Hadis Najafi (حدیث نجفی) was born on 15 Dey 1378 (5 January 2000) in Mianeh (میانه), East Azerbaijan, and lived and worked in Mehrshahr, Karaj. She held a sewing design diploma and worked in a restaurant on Eram Boulevard.
On the night of 30 Shahrivar 1401 (21 September 2022), during the Woman, Life, Freedom protests after Mahsa (Zhina) Amini's death, independent reporting including Radio Zamaneh, VOA Persian, and Persian Wikipedia says she was shot by security forces on Eram Boulevard in Mehrshahr. Relatives and witnesses describe pellet and combat rounds hitting her face, neck, and chest. She died of her wounds. Authorities pressed the family to call the death natural or brain death; a death certificate later cited gunshot and "operation of war materials outside war." Her body was buried on 1 Mehr 1401 at Behesht-e Sakineh cemetery in Karaj (plot 29, row 25) under heavy security.
Her mother later said she had gone into the street "for Mahsa and for the hijab." A widely shared video of a young woman tying her hair was wrongly attributed to Hadis; BBC Persian aired an audio message from that woman saying she was not Hadis but was fighting "for the Hadises and Mahsas."
